MultiChoice recognized at the 2025 Women in Film Awards

MultiChoice in Kenya is celebrating a remarkable achievement at the Women in Film Awards (WIFA), with multiple wins across key categories for its productions airing on Maisha Magic and Showmax.

Now in its sixth year, WIFA honors outstanding contributions by women in the film and television industry, recognizing excellence in directing, producing, scriptwriting, cinematography, and more.

This year’s edition, which took place on Saturday, saw MultiChoice Kenya’s shows and talent receive well-deserved recognition, showcasing the company’s continued commitment to empowering women in the creative sector.

Among the highlights of the night, 4Play’s Abigail Arunga was feted the Best Scriptwriter – TV Drama award for their work on Showmax’s adult drama as well as Yvonne Wanjiku’s gong for Best Scriptwriter – Film for When the Gods Argue.

MultiChoice Talent Factory alumni Linda Dina (Class of 2024) and Audrey Egesa (Class of 2022) shined during the gala event capturing the Best Sound Designer and Best Newcomer Producer trophies for their Maisha Magic projects.

Speaking on the recognition, Nzola Miranda, Managing Director reiterated the company’s commitment to fostering opportunities for women in the film industry.
